Instead of the usual comments, hyperactive offers the possibility to post additions on posts. Additions are not meant for stating opinions or discussion, but for providing additional information or updates that are missing from the original post.

An article is a first hand report about some issue. Articles can have different types of media attached, e.g. [[Glossary#Photos|Photos]], [[Glossary#Video|Videos]] or other [[Glossary#File Uploads|File Uploads]]

h3. Audio

Audio files can be posted as [[Glossary#File Uploads|File Uploads]] on [[Glossary#Article|Articles]]. They will be displayed with a little in page player. 

[[Glossary#Group|Groups]] have a [[Glossary#M3U Playlist|M3U Playlist]] that any audio file elsewhere on the web can be added to.

h3. Calendar

Besides the newswire, the calendar is at the heart of hyperactive. Only future [[Glossary#Events|event]] are displayed prominently on the page.

h3. Category

Hyperactive does not have static categories, categories are merely [[Glossary#Tags|tags]] that will be suggested on the Publish Pages. 

h3. Cross Posting

If people get enthusiastic about articles they find on the internet, they tend to cross post them, meaning they copy and paste them to other sites. Hyperactive enables people to share those articles without cross posting, by publishing a link using the [[Glossary#Other Media|Other Media]] publish form.

Events can be published by anyone, they will show up in the calendar and can be [[Glossary#Promoted|promoted]] or [[Glossary#Featured|featured]].

h3. Featured Posts

Featured posts will be prominently displayed on the frontpage. The most recent featured article is the main piece of content on the start page and usually referred to as "the feature." Anyone can propose a post to be featured by using the 'report this post' function or contacting the moderators per email.

At the end of the publish form, different kinds of file uploads are possible. *Max Size? Types?*

h3. Group

Any [[Glossary#User Account|user]] can create a group, and can add any number of other members to that group. Every member of a group can add content and edit all posts that are part of a group. 

Groups are listed in the groups section and have an own page listing all their articles, events and media. Groups get a unique url looking like hyperactive.org/groups/your-group-name. Think of it like a blog, but better!

Any spam and inappropriate content will be hidden. Hidden posts are not displayed or linked in the usual newswires, and are not indexed by Google, so they wouldn't show up in online searches.

h3. Links

When posting on hyperactive, you can insert links into your text using the html editor. Just highlight the words that you want to link and then click the !link_add.png! chain link icon. A pop-up window will prompt you for the url, don't forget the http://, but don't worry about the Target and Title fields.

If you have found something exciting elsewhere on the web, you can [[Glossary#Other Media|post a link]] with a short description of why it is great.

You may be looking for [[Glossary#Map|Maps]] that can be attached to events or for [[Glossary#Place Tags|Place Tags]] used for categorising.

Groups have their own M3U Playlist and can add any soundfile from the internet. *other explanation?*

h3. Map

When publishing an event, maps from http://www.openstreetmap.org/ can be included. This will load data from an external server and can take a moment. 

h3. Moderation Status

There are 4 moderation statuses: as soon as the publish button is hit, a post will be [[Glossary#Published|published]]. Once a moderator has looked at it, the content may be  [[Glossary#Promoted|promoted]] or [[Glossary#Featured|featured]]. Inappropriate content will be [[Glossary#Hidden|hidden]].

h3. Moderator

Moderators are volunteers who help maintaining the site in their free time. They are generally happy to help, but please keep in mind while your problem may be clear to you, you will have to provide sufficient information. If you use the [[Glossary#Report|Report this]] feature, remember that you will have to give an email address if you want anyone to respond.

Newswires are one of the basic structures of the site. Different types of posts will be pulled together in chronological lists for your browsing convenience in so-called newswires.
