For quick news updates it'd be good to have something like an action timeline which could be tied to a specific day.

It would also be good if the action timeline was tied to a group, so that a group can run its own dispatch for an action day; it should be possible for site administrators to tick a box and have the top 3 events from the mobile timeline show up on the front page (or maybe at the bottom of a given feature article?).
